Would you consider taking an over the counter or prescription drug differently than advised on the directions? Would you consider performing your exercise regimen differently than what has been prescribed? If this is you, there could be consequences to your choices. You could fall short of producing the results you and your coach/therapist are set out to achieve or you could elicit side effects with consequences. Your therapists set out to meet your goals and effect numerous tissue types when they are prescribing exercise. Believe it or not, there is A LOT of science involved when it comes to decisions of exercise prescription. If you want to maximize your potential with exercise to meet your individualized goals then following a program is best. If you feel you are capable of more, simply share this with your therapist and together you can set realistic milestones.
